Senior Product Owner, Enterprise Observability

We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to lead the technical monitoring and alerting team’s product strategy. This role focuses on delivering real-time observability of CHS’s technology portfolio and improving delivery by proactively enabling visibility of our applications across the enterprise. The Product Owner is responsible for bringing clarity to stakeholder needs and priorities, leading product discovery, and setting a clear product vision and strategy. This includes defining and communicating the value proposition, building alignment and consensus across diverse stakeholders, and partnering closely with delivery teams to develop and maintain a roadmap that advances enterprise observability and IT service performance and availability. The role also owns key product metrics and ensures measurable business value through improved efficiency, quality, and user experience. While this position is posted as remote, we are looking for local talent only. To be considered for this position, qualified candidates must currently be located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN metro area and weekly local travel (1-day per week) to the corporate office located in Inver Grove Heights, MN is required. Responsibilities Lead Product Strategy Collaborate with stakeholders to define the product’s vision and mission and ensure the vision is clearly communicated to the product delivery team and understood by the team. Develop a product marketing strategy to drive consumption including core positioning and value proposition for the product and its major releases. Create, maintain, and communicate the product roadmap to the product delivery team and stakeholders. Hold decision-making authority for scope-versus-schedule decisions for features isolated to their product. Defining and facilitating clear work intake processes. Prioritize backlog based on customer and business value and drives clarity for the product delivery team by communicating the goals of the requirements while working closely with delivery team members. Communicate successes to the enterprise and continue to drive the value behind product ownership and agile delivery. Inspire the team around a compelling vision and future state. Represent Customer and Lead Stakeholder Engagement Understand the overall market, various segments, and define user personas of the product to ensure that the product strategy and roadmap provide value to the users and business. Conduct the necessary research and analysis to fully understand the customers’ needs and high-level requirements. Work with the business to build detailed requirements and user stories. Work with the customers to define what business value means to the customer and use this definition to assess each feature/story based on business value. Represent the voice of the customer to the product delivery team, based on active customer engagement, and provide direction on the development, testing, and refinement of features in a collaborative fashion. Facilitate customer engagements with the product delivery team. Ensure the product is demonstrated to the customer and stakeholders to validate that the product being delivered meets the customers’ needs. Drive Product Performance Negotiate with the customer representatives, stakeholders, and the product delivery team to prioritize work in the backlog and help maximize the value the team delivers. Ensure that the team understands the context of the stories in the backlog and that the team has adequate information to deliver the stories. Provide leadership to ensure the product delivery team continually achieves a meaningful balance between user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility. Ensure value realization by consistently measuring the impact of delivered features against the original goals and KPIs identified by stakeholders. Effectively connect and communicate delivery team members work with the value it provides. Minimum Qualifications (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent years of work experience, training and education). 4+ years of experience working with both business and IT employees/stakeholders in a cross-functional environment to include: Demonstrated ability to understand complex ideas and interdependencies Strong business acumen and ability to understand the larger company strategy Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Excellent presentation and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Track record of using quantitative and qualitative data to prioritize decision-making Proven ability to effectively drive change Knowledge of sound observability practices and capabilities Additional Qualifications 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following roles: Product Owner Product Marketer IT Relationship Manager Business Analyst Engineer or Developer Experience working on or leading Agile teams Experience working directly with business stakeholders and end-users Organizing, facilitating, and leading a cross-functional team Product Owner certification Dynatrace platform experience Workflow automation knowledge Experience with Scrum methodology Advanced proficiency in agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
