Staff Pharmacist - Sergeant Bluff, Iowa

A pharmacy professional is needed for a 13-week contract position working night shifts on a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to comprehensive pharmaceutical care across all units with a focus on critical care patients in a dynamic hospital environment.

Schedule:

• Nights: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 7 days on, 7 days off
• Immediate start available

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough order verification ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Utilize pharmacokinetics principles to optimize medication therapy.
• Collaborate and consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication regimens.
• Support medication needs across all hospital units with emphasis on critical care patients.
• Utilize technology systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials.
• Experience with hospital pharmacy operations and critical care units is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities during night shifts.
