Research And Development Scientist

Seeking an R&D Scientist to drive innovation and quality in molecular biology reagent development and manufacturing. This hands‑on laboratory role focuses on infectious disease testing, assay development, and quality control in a regulated environment. Responsibilities Design and optimize molecular biology experiments to develop novel PCR diagnostic assays and support assay innovation. Perform daily PCR bench work, including reagent preparation, assay setup, amplification, and post‑run data analysis. Develop and optimize multiplex real‑time PCR assays, conducting studies on primer/probe performance and reaction conditions. Execute analytical verification and validation studies, ensuring compliance with internal quality systems and scientific protocols. Document experimental procedures and results, analyze data, and interpret findings to inform scientific decisions. Conduct quality control testing on raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished products using qPCR, dPCR, spectrophotometry, NGS, and electrophoresis. Assist in troubleshooting assay performance, manufacturing processes, and unexpected experimental results, supporting root‑cause analysis. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to transfer research into production, maintain laboratory compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field. Hands‑on experience with PCR/qPCR and molecular biology techniques. Experience in biotech manufacturing, reagent production, or quality control preferred. Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and data analysis ability.
