Platform Architect

Job Description

As Platform Architect, you will lead the design and evolution of shared platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and reliable software solutions.

Responsibilities Define and evolve the architecture for shared platform capabilities across enterprise applications and products. Partner with engineering, product, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to shape platform strategy, technical standards, and technology roadmaps. Design reusable services, APIs, event-driven integrations, developer tools, and reference architectures that accelerate software delivery. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance across engineering teams. Lead major platform modernization, cloud transformation, and engineering enablement initiatives. Evaluate cloud services, AI capabilities, and emerging technologies to improve scalability, reliability, security, and developer productivity. Create architecture documentation, standards, best practices, and engineering guidance to support adoption and long-term maintainability. Promote reusable design patterns, secure software development practices, and continuous improvement. Establish governance processes for architecture reviews and technology selection. Support the responsible adoption of innovative technologies across the enterprise. What Success Looks Like Balances strategic thinking with practical, delivery-focused execution. Skills and Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience designing distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, and enterprise-scale applications. Strong architecture expertise in: Microservices API design and management Event-driven architecture Cloud infrastructure Kubernetes and containerization CI/CD pipelines Data platforms Observability and monitoring solutions Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, Go, or TypeScript. Strong understanding of application security, identity management, authentication, authorization, and secure software design principles. Experience evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development and platform tooling. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience working within high-growth SaaS environments. Experience with event streaming platforms, service mesh technologies, cloud-native networking, observability platforms, and enterprise data ecosystems. Experience designing AI-enabled platforms or integrating large language model (LLM) capabilities into enterprise applications. Experience leading architecture governance, technical review boards, and modernization programs. Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing software platforms.
