Job Title

RN (Registered Nurse) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown Float Pool

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every other weekend required | Holidays included in staff rotation | Travelers expected to maintain flexibility with unit assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Float across MedSurg Tele and PCU units on multiple campuses, including coverage for inpatients holding in the ED
• Provide direct patient care for a diverse population including geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-CABG (day 3–4) patients
• Titrate and manage drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin; comfort managing the majority of these drips is required
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips; monitor techs are available for PCU and MedSurg Tele, with bedside monitors present in Stepdown
• Manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow in applicable units
• Care for groin sites in the Stepdown unit following cardiac catheterization procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a PCU setting
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Must not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated health system facility within the past year

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with cardiac step-down care, including post-cath and post-CABG patient management
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently
• Experience working with nurse aide support in a team-based care model
