Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

Rogers Group is seeking candidates for an EQUIPMENT OPERATOR position at our Roanoke Quarry located in Roanoke, VA .

The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment - excavator, dozer, track hoe, loader, haul truck, and skid steer, and others. This individual will also be required to work on the ground and in the plant. They must have a strong commitment to safety excellence.

Wages starting at $18.00/hr . for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with quarry and mining experience. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a dedication to safe work practices.
• At least two years of proficient experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment - excavator, dozer, track hoe, loader, haul truck, skid steer, and others.
• Willing and able to work on the ground and in the plant as needed.
• Able and willing to assist with fixed plant maintenance.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment with precision and excellence in a variety of terrains and conditions.
• Performing various production duties.
• Complete required daily inspections, light maintenance, greasing, and fueling of heavy equipment.
• May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
• Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
