Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, skilled Welder to join our team. This position involves welding, cutting, measuring, and fabricating piping and related materials to meet quality and production requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on welding experience, understands safe equipment operation, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

The Welder will work in a fabrication and warehouse environment, using welding equipment, power tools, and material-handling equipment to complete daily assignments. This role also involves inspecting finished welds, preparing materials for fabrication, maintaining equipment, and keeping the work area clean and safe. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet throughout the shift, handling heavy materials, and working occasional weekends or overtime when needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Operate MIG welding equipment to weld piping, steel, and related materials according to job specifications and safety requirements.

• Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, leaks, defects, and other issues that may affect the finished product.

• Use angle grinders, plasma cutters, and other power tools to cut pipe and steel plates and prepare fittings for welding and fabrication.

• Read and follow fabrication diagrams, cut sheets, and other work instructions to determine measurements and material requirements.

• Accurately measure, mark, cut, and prepare piping and related materials for fabrication.

• Safely operate heavy-duty equipment, including pipe-threading machines, such as a Landis threader.

• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns to help keep tools and machinery in proper working condition.

• Load and unload piping, steel, and other materials using a forklift or other approved material-handling equipment.

• Move, organize, and stage materials to support daily production and fabrication needs.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow established safety procedures throughout the workday.

• Complete required safety training and follow applicable OSHA standards and workplace policies.

• Identify fabrication or welding issues and work with the appropriate team members to correct defects and maintain quality standards.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

• At least one year of warehouse, material handling, or related industrial experience.

• Two or more years of welding experience preferred, particularly with MIG welding.

• Ability to successfully complete an on-site welding test as part of the qualification process.

• Previous fabrication experience is preferred.

• Experience reading measurements, diagrams, fabrication sheets, or technical work instructions is an advantage.

• Forklift experience and the ability to safely move heavy materials are preferred.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

• Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English to understand work instructions and follow safety procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime as production needs require.

Skills and Abilities

• Hands-on MIG welding and metal fabrication skills.

• Ability to identify weld defects and take appropriate steps to correct quality issues.

• Familiarity with steel piping, fittings, and related materials.

• Ability to safely operate welding equipment, power tools, and material-handling machinery.

• Understanding of workplace safety practices and the importance of following established procedures.

• Good communication and teamwork skills when working with coworkers, supervisors, and other personnel.

• Ability to troubleshoot routine fabrication problems and follow instructions to resolve issues.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

• Ability to learn new equipment, procedures, and computer-based systems as needed.

Physical Requirements

This position involves active, hands-on work in a fabrication and warehouse environment. Employees must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical requirements may include:

• Standing for extended periods throughout the shift.

• Walking throughout the fabrication shop and warehouse.

• Frequently using hands and fingers to handle tools, welding equipment, and materials.

• Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and changing positions as needed.

• Occasionally lifting materials weighing up to 100 pounds.

• Occasionally carrying materials weighing up to 80 pounds.

• Occasionally pushing or pulling materials weighing up to 200 pounds, with appropriate equipment or assistance as needed.

• Maintaining the coordination and dexterity required to operate welding tools and other equipment safely.

• Using vision and hearing to inspect materials, operate equipment, and follow workplace safety procedures.

Work Environment and Safety

The work environment includes fabrication shop and warehouse areas that may have limited or no climate control, as well as occasional outdoor work. Employees may be exposed to heat, cold, welding fumes, noise, dust, power tools, heavy machinery, and materials requiring careful handling.

The Welder must follow all established safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and use tools and machinery only as authorized and trained. Forklifts and other material-handling equipment must be operated safely and in accordance with applicable requirements. Employees are expected to maintain awareness of their surroundings, report unsafe conditions, and follow all applicable workplace safety rules.

Schedule and Availability

• Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.

• Weekend Work: Some weekends may be required based on workload and production needs.

• Overtime: Additional hours may be required as needed.

Candidates should be prepared to work the established schedule and accommodate occasional additional hours when required.

Compensation

$22.00 per hour , with overtime eligibility in accordance with applicable law.
