Description

Our client, the U.S.'s largest commercial real estate services firm, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HVAC Engineer in Atlanta, GA . This 2-month contract position, with possible extension or conversion, supports multiple commercial facilities and is ideal for an experienced HVAC professional with strong commercial HVAC and general maintenance skills. The successful candidate will work as part of a team while independently completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and building system support. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Maintain and service mini-split and traditional split systems, including 2- to 4-ton units.
• Perform maintenance on VRF systems, rooftop units, heat pumps, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic HVAC control systems and related components.
• Inspect HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions or modifications.
• Maintain building automation systems (BMS) and assist with monitoring building HVAC operations.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks such as changing filters, fan belts, and condensate components.
• Perform general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
• Assign and coordinate tasks with team members and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
• Travel between multiple commercial buildings as needed to complete maintenance and service requests.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of completed work and communicate work status to appropriate parties.
• Provide professional, customer-focused service while interacting with clients and building occupants.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and company policies.
• Participate in overtime or emergency response when necessary, including potential system downtime events.

Must Have Skills

• 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and general maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC equipment.
• Universal EPA certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school education.
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and professional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel between multiple facilities during the workday.
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and carrying loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience maintaining mini-split, split, VRF, rooftop, heat pump, chiller, and cooling tower systems.
• Building Management System (BMS) experience.
• Experience with general facility maintenance.
• Personal HVAC tools.
• Prior experience working across multiple commercial facilities.
• Experience coordinating or assigning work to other technicians.
