About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quality Improvement Specialist to support quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives within a leading healthcare organization. This role will partner with clinical, operational, and leadership teams to analyze data, identify improvement opportunities, and drive projects that enhance patient outcomes and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical service line leaders to identify and implement quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze clinical data, documentation, and patient records to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with Information Systems teams to extract data, generate reports, and monitor quality performance metrics.
- Perform concurrent chart reviews and retrospective medical record reviews to support regulatory and quality initiatives.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of quality data through observation, monitoring, and validation efforts.
- Support data visualization and reporting efforts to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Review documentation related to hospital-acquired conditions, preventable conditions, and other regulatory quality measures.
- Educate and consult with clinical staff and leadership on quality findings, documentation accuracy, and improvement opportunities.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma, TeamSTEPPS, and Just Culture methodologies to improve patient safety and care quality.
- Assist with departmental initiatives, including support of the annual Leapfrog Survey and quality outcome presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Quality Improvement experience .
- Experience analyzing healthcare data and driving process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience conducting chart reviews, audits, and quality monitoring activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience preferred.
- RN or BSN preferred.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Annapolis, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
