Staff Accountant

Position Profile

We are partnering with an expanding commercial enterprise to bring on a meticulous, results-oriented Staff Accountant . Working alongside a seasoned accounting leadership team, you will anchor core financial routines—managing month-end close schedules, general ledger balance sheet proofs, and transactional cash workflows. This seat is built for an analytical thinker who enjoys finding friction points in legacy processes and introducing smarter, automated ways to work.

Core Accountabilities

• Close Execution: Build and substantiate monthly journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and drive assigned close workflows efficiently.
• Transactional Operations: Oversee full-cycle AP processing, vendor disbursements, cash applications, and receipt matching with a high standard of accuracy.
• Control Environment: Maintain rigorous compliance standards aligned with US GAAP principles and internal control guidelines.
• Workflow Optimization: Leverage mid-market ERP reporting tools, modern close platforms, and spend utilities to eliminate manual data entry and streamline recurring routines.
• Cross-Functional Sync: Coordinate directly with internal commercial groups (Sales, Logistics, Operations) and external entities to resolve billing discrepancies and intercompany variances.
• Compliance & Reporting Support: Compile schedules for annual financial reviews and assist with local tax reporting requirements.
• Ad-Hoc Initiatives: Partner on special financial projects and operational analyses as requested by management.

• Certifications: CPA qualification or active progress toward your license is valued.
• Technical Fluency: Advanced spreadsheet capabilities (complex formulas, dynamic data aggregation) combined with solid analytical instincts.
• Systems Exposure: Familiarity with ERP architectures (e.g., NetSuite) and contemporary close management or spend control solutions (e.g., Numeric, Ramp). Experience with data query layers (Power Query, Power BI) is a distinct advantage.
• Sector Context: Prior exposure to consumer product lines, physical distribution, or manufacturing environments is helpful.
