Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic team dedicated to refurbishing and servicing gearboxes. We seek a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support our team in meeting client demands. The role involves hands-on inspection and engineering work to ensure gearboxes are expertly refurbished and returned to optimal condition.

Responsibilities

• Inspect gearboxes on the shop floor to determine necessary refurbishments.
• Specify job details and input the Bill of Materials (BOM) into the ERP system (EPICORE).
• Conduct 3D modeling and 2D sketches using Solidworks, including expanding, extruding, and adding holes to drawings.
• Perform calculations such as FEA, Load Analysis, and Stress Analysis.
• Apply GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) to drawings.
• Spend approximately 50% of the time working in the shop environment.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of experience with Solidworks.
• 5+ years of experience in design, manufacturing engineering, assembly/test, field service engineering, or equipment repair.
• 3+ years of experience with rotating equipment.
• Experience in detailed design through fabrication.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with assembly production, shaft design, pinning gears, pumps, motors, and bearings.
• 4+ years of experience with MS Suite.
• 3+ years of experience with rotating elements such as pumps, turbines, gears, or compressors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, TX.

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $45.00/hr.
