Urology - Santa Fe, New Mexico Seeking a Urologist to join the team. You will enjoy working with a highly skilled and professional group of providers committed to exceptional, personalized care to patients near and far. The urology team provides a full range of services to diagnose and treat a variety of genitourinary problems such as: bladder cancer, prostate cancer, prostatitis, urinary retention and frequency, nocturia, kidney stones, renal failure, masses and growths, chronic UTI's and hematuria. • Monday through Friday 8am-5pm (5 days per week 8-hour days), or 7:30am - 5:30pm (4 days per week, 10-hour days)
• Physicians see patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting, take on call coverage, adhere to coding guidelines, manage in basket work timely.
• Work alongside support staff and other providers.
• Close open encounters within 3 days.
• Physician sees 25-30 patients per day.
• Inpatient will only be during on call weeks and surgical OR time. May vary on inpatient side week by week.
Benefits Details
• Year 1 Base Compensation: $573,137.00
• Year 2+ Compensation: Productivity Based + High Productivity RVU
• $48,000 in exchange for your agreement to work in a full-time capacity for a period of at least 3 (three) years.
• Should you depart or voluntarily reduce your FTE prior to completing 3 years of full-time employment, you agree to bonus repayment as follows:
- If employment is terminated or FTE reduced prior to commencing employment or prior to the completion of one full year of employment (0-12 months), you will repay 100% of the bonus. - If employment is terminated or FTE reduced prior to completion of two full years of employment (13-24 months), you will repay 2/3 of the bonus. - If employment is terminated or FTE reduced prior to completion of three full years of employment (25-36 months), you will repay 1/3 of the bonus.
• 50% will be paid in the first payroll cycle after submission of 1) a fully completed credentials application, including an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of New Mexico issued by the New Mexico Medical Board, and 2) completion of Human Resources pre-boarding paperwork, including scheduling of the Human Resources pre-employment physical appointment.
• 50% will be paid to Physician in the first payroll cycle after employment commences.
• All bonus dollars will be subject to all applicable taxes and employment-related withholdings.
• Malpractice Insurance: Occurrence Based; Employer Paid; and in accordance with state requirements.
• Comprehensive Benefits Package: Refer to information packet provided by your recruiter for benefits and retirement savings offerings.
• CME & Licensure Allowance: $6,000 per calendar year provided for CME expenses, license renewals, and/or membership dues that are relevant to practice specialty.
• Allowances are pro-rated to FTE; Unused funds do not carry into following year.
Requirements
• Board certified or eligible
• Experience with robotics preferred
• This site is an HOPD Clinic meaning the clinic charges both professional and hospital-based billing fees. The providers also take on call coverage for the hospital consults and after hour calls.

• 8-5 M-F (7:30-5:00) is when front desk works.
• Each provider does differently
• MDs see 15 minutes across the board, new follow up and post-op. Some procedures like vasectomies take 30 minutes. Dr. Shaw does his new patients in 30 minutes.
• APCs take 30 min new patients and 15 min follow ups and post ops
• No APC is assigned to a specific MD. All APCs help all physicians.
• Call is required. All MDs share on-call obligation for hospital consults, after hour calls and emergency surgeries, if needed.
• APC team assists with clinic practice call each day.
• APCs do not have call Sat or Sunday.
• The APCs share ER/hospital first call Monday through Friday during clinic hours, but not after 5:00 or on weekends.
• The APCs share nighttime and weekend first telephone call from established patients.
• The APCs are always backed up by a physician.
• At this time, the APCs do not assist in the operating room.
• There is also an expectation that the APCs assist with some postop care and more urgent same-day care.
• UNM & Univ of Colorado is where some patients are transferred to.
• Non-urgent patients: 6-8 weeks
• If triaged by a RN, they can move things around for patient to be seen sooner
• Accessibility should improve once this position is filled, which will also help reduce wait times
• Majority pts are adult and geriatric
• No minors, 18+ only
• Medicare/Medicaid: 73.7%
• Commercial: 24.7%
• Self-pay/Other: 2.6%
• 5 front desk associates
• 3 MDs who each have 2 MAs
• 5 APCs who each have 1 MA
• 4 nurses who help handle in-basket, triage, cap changes ‚Äì most nurses do 4/10s
