Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our dynamic Operating Room (OR) team. The RNFA will play a pivotal role in surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and support during operations.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Day Shift
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: One weekend of call per month
• Call Requirement: One call night per week
• Response Time for Call: 30 minutes

Operating Room Details

• Unit: Operating Room
• Number of OR Suites: 7
• Number of Cases per Day: 15-20

Certifications and Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in OR settings
• Travel Experience: Preferred but not required

Technical and Operational Details

• Electronic Medical Records: Cerner Surginet
• Common Types of Cases: High volume of orthopedic surgeries (including total joints), general, gynecological, pediatric, and ophthalmic cases. Cardiac cases are not assigned to traveling staff.
• Scrubbing: Recommended for RN's but not mandatory

Facility Support Services

• RT Availability: 24/7
• Pharmacy Availability: Not 24/7; after-hours support from Marian post 10 PM
• IV Team: Not available

• Scrub Color: Scrubs provided
• Holidays: Work on holidays required only in emergencies
• Orientation: Floor-specific orientation based on skillset
