Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
• Primary Location: Glenview, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM; weekend rotation every 2-3 months Saturdays 7:00AM-4:00PM and Sundays 7:00AM-2:00PM
• Required Travel: Travel to other sites as needed (Skokie and Lincolnshire)

What You Will Do:

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
• Work with Trauma Care Team at Glenbrook Hospital primarily, as well as Skokie and Lincolnshire Ortho offices as needed

What You Will Need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience: Strong clinical skills and Epic experience; One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
