Registered Nurse (RN) / Emergency DepartmentThis position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department, focusing on providing high-quality patient care during night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for assessing and managing critical care patients in a fast-paced environment while utilizing advanced nursing skills.ResponsibilitiesTriage of patients and provide critical care assessmentsUtilize critical thinking skills in patient managementPerform nursing skills including intravenous (IV) and intraosseous (IO) accessManage chest tube placements and catheterization proceduresAdminister and monitor critical care medications and dripsMonitor cardiac status and ensure competency in cardiac monitoringRequirementsValid RN licensureBasic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificationsCrisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (can be obtained after contract start)A minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department or similar critical care environmentAbility to manage 16 beds with a variable patient ratio of 4:1This role will be based in an Emergency Department with a total of 16 beds. The nurse will work a night shift, ensuring patient safety and care during those hours. There is a focus on critical care nursing and emergency response, making it essential for candidates to have strong clinical skills and experience.Scrubs must be royal blue, and the electronic medical record (EMR) system used will be First Net - Cerner. Requests for time off must be submitted in advance and made up at the end of the contract period, with a blackout period for Labor Day.
