Our team collaborates closely with marketing leaders from across GM to build easy to use tooling to create engaging and innovative experiences at scale while providing meaningful value to our customers through a seamless customer experience.Our mission is to rapidly and relentlessly ideate, iterate, and launch the next generation of innovative solutions to connect GM with current and future customers. Our team comprises industry-leading software and quality engineers, who utilize a variety of innovative development methodologies and technologies to achieve breakthrough results, drive innovation, and delight customers.The RoleWe are looking for an exceptional software engineer who is excited about building web products across General Motors. You will be responsible for helping lead our engineering efforts through planning, design and architecture, execution, and ramp. As a technical leader on the team, you will be able to help mentor less experienced engineers, build strong relationships with technical leaders on other teams, and facilitate a strong team culture.What You’ll DoDevelop competency across our complete web technologies stack (client, framework, and services)Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integrationWork with tech leads and actively engage with other engineers on the team to deliver objectivesInvestigate & resolve performance bottlenecksContribute to efforts to automate testingWork on API, Content management, edge and cloud systemsLeverage your technical expertise to ensure we adhere to engineering best practices, and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity and craftsmanshipYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience3+ years of experience in web application development with a focus on backend technologies (Java w/ Spring boot, Python, server-side JavaScript)Experience with automation tasks, Kubernetes, CDNs/Edge Compute (like Akamai) and/or cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud PlatformMust be able to do performance analysis and write unit testsExperience working with multi-tier production software systems utilizing APIs (REST, GraphQL) and Content Management SystemsDemonstrated ability to understand the tech stack, debug code and testsExperience implementing microservicesExperience with cloud automation technology such as Helm, Terraform, and ArgoCDEnthusiastic about the opportunity of impacting the engineering culture from the bottom upWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​2+ years developing in content management systems such as Adobe Experience ManagerExperience developing in Springboot (Java)Experience in Full-Stack DevelopmentExperience with observability tools like DatadogExperience with analytics tools such as Heap and Adobe AnalyticsExperience with automation testing tools such as Browserstack and Playwright#LI-CK1Gm does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
