Corporate Associate Attorney – San Diego
Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney to join an Am Law 100 firm with a nationally recognized corporate practice and a strong presence in technology, life sciences, and other growth industries.
Position OverviewThe firm is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of transactional experience to join its San Diego office. The ideal candidate will have strong transactional experience and the ability to contribute to a broad range of sophisticated matters while working collaboratively with attorneys across the firm’s national corporate practice.
The Corporate Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to support matters involving:
Mergers and acquisitions
Capital markets and securities
Venture capital transactions
Private equity transactions
General corporate and transactional matters
Candidates should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, providing high-quality client service, and managing complex matters in a fast-paced environment. The role offers significant opportunities for professional development and is considered an on-track partnership position.
Qualifications2-4 years of transactional experience , ideally with a leading national or international law firm
Experience with M&A, securities, venture capital, and/or private equity transactions
Private equity experience preferred
J.D. or L.L.M. from an ABA-accredited law school
Admitted or eligible for admission to the California Bar
Strong academic credentials
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and critical reasoning abilities
Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines
Professional and client-focused approach
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
The firm values collaboration and integration across its national corporate practice. Attorneys are expected to work from the office approximately 60% of the time , consistent with the firm's published guidelines.
Compensation$235,000-$310,000 base salary , plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.
