EHS Manager

Job Description \n \n What you will do \n In this role you will have oversight and accountability for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) operations at The Tampa. FL site. In this role you will partner with other members of the plant management staff and regional EHS leadership teams to ensure seamless implementation of Global, Regional, and plant EHS standards, practices, systems, and tools and will serve as the general subject matter expert for EHS operations. This role is both strategic and tactical with daily plant floor Gemba walks partnering with plant employees, safety committees, supervision, engineering and leadership to ensure comprehension and embody partnerships for a committed and principled EHS culture. \n \n How you will do it \n \n \n Partner with Plant Leadership, EHS Leadership, regional experts, and operations teams to develop and execute site-specific operational and EHS strategies. \n \n Engage employees at all levels to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, ISO 14000/45000). \n \n Lead EHS programs, including PPE management, engineered hazard solutions, and maintenance of ISO-compliant management systems in partnership with Quality. \n \n Manage EHS improvement activities such as incident investigations, workers' compensation claims, contractor safety reviews, and ensure continuous EHS training for all employees. \n \n Track and communicate EHS performance metrics, analyze incident trends, and drive timely implementation of root causes and preventative measures. \n \n Advocate for EHS capital needs, ensure escalation of critical issues, and implement a communication strategy reinforcing strong EHS ownership across the plant. \n \n \n What we look for \n Required \n \n \n Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety leadership role in a manufacturing environment. \n \n Knowledge of ISO14001 and 45000 standards. \n \n Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. \n \n Travel may occasionally be necessary (approximately 1 -2 times per year) \n \n \n Preferred \n \n \n Manufacturing experience \n \n \n \n Tampa - Fully Integrated Plant \n \n \n Tampa, Florida is home to a fully integrated plant that manufactures batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. As a fully integrated plant, we also decorate or label our batteries into the final product for our customers. We opened in 1958 and employ more than 280 people. We operate six days per week.
