The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide high-quality care for critically ill patients, demonstrating excellence in clinical skills and patient management.Unit HighlightsLocation: Dallas, TXUnit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)Number of Beds: 16Patient Ratios: Estimated 1:2Type of Equipment: All ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitorDocumentation System: MeditechKey ResponsibilitiesThe ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for:Providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.Performing assessments and evaluations based on patient acuity and needs.Utilizing specialized equipment and conducting procedures such as central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations.Documenting patient care and outcomes effectively in the Meditech system.QualificationsRequired Skills: Minimum of 2 years ICU experienceBLS certificationACLS certificationPreferred Skills: Experience with CRRT and Hypothermia protocolMeditech experienceLicensure: Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted)Dress CodeScrub Color: Royal BlueNail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or next-gen nailsHair: Neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not permitted; hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longerTattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; body art that cannot be covered will be addressed individuallyPiercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibitedAdditional InformationAssignments will be made according to acuity and skills.Flexible scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.Floating to other units may occur as needed.This position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
