Summary Description: Human Resources Manager provides effective and efficient generalist human‑resources support within the manufacturing environment to employees and management, and proactively provides solutions to help attain goals and objectives related to human resources best practices. Responsibilities Administer Human Resources and Safety Department plans and procedures for a company with 150 employees. Initiate and implement HR best practices, recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements. Effectively communicate policies, procedures and programs to management and employees. Develop strategic recruiting and retention plan, including composing effective job advertisements, and develop job descriptions as necessary. Identify human resource needs of the company, including the training, development and continuous motivation of employees. Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, annual re‑evaluation of policies for cost‑effectiveness. Lead worker’s compensation program, including claims administration and reporting, accident investigations, and return‑to‑work of employees. Maintain personnel records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO, ERISA, IRS and OSHA regulations (state and federal). Maintain emissions reports and handle all AQMD reporting. Implement safety programs, and persistently strive to eliminate or control hazardous conditions. Conduct new‑employee orientations. Prepare weekly payroll and supervise daily Time & Attendance reports. Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with governmental laws and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of employment laws and practices, with union environment preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven leadership capabilities and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to read and speak Spanish. The ideal candidate for this position should be a motivated self‑starter who is detail‑oriented and has previous QC experience working in a printing/folding carton plant. Under the supervision of the QA Manager, this person will spend at least 70% of their time in the manufacturing areas to ensure proper standards are achieved. Basic knowledge of various types of packaging (paper, board, and plastic) would be preferred. Primary Responsibilities Assist QC/QA Manager in developing, implementing and maintaining quality initiatives including but not limited to SOP management, stability programs, equipment and building system qualification and validation, etc. Investigate and resolve quality issues associated with audit findings, out‑of‑specifications, nonconformancy reports, customer complaints. Identify opportunities for quality improvement. Develop, implement, monitor and maintain a corrective action database. Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO and other regulations, policies and established company procedures. Provide QA support as needed. Qualifications Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SPC. Ability to communicate ideas and comprehend detailed instructions. Written and verbal problem‑solving skills. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple projects while remaining highly organized. Ability to work independently and productively with little or no supervision. Data collection, proficient math level including statistical analysis. This position provides management with the most efficient estimated production cost for each project. The successful candidate should be a motivated self‑starter who is detail‑oriented and have a minimum of three years experience in a packaging or printing environment. Knowledge of various types of packaging (printing, paper, board and plastic) will be very helpful. Job Responsibilities Accurately estimate jobs based on specifications submitted through our electronic RFQ system. Work closely with vendors to obtain best possible pricing for material and buyouts. Interface with department supervisors to ensure best pricing to customers based on layouts and press parameters. Qualifications 3+ years experience estimating in a printing environment. Must have solid computer skills. Ability to communicate ideas and comprehend detailed instructions. Excellent written, verbal, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple projects while remaining highly organized. Detail oriented and accuracy is a must. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and workload to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and productively with little or no supervision.
