Coaches Aide – Men's Basketball Position Title: Coaches Aide – Men's Basketball Campus: Cranford Department: Athletics Full-time, Part-time, Adjunct position. Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the men's basketball program. Foster an environment that supports and encourages each student‑athlete to graduate in a timely fashion. Help maintain a competitive win/loss record. Assist in developing the skill, discipline, and integrity of the team during games and practice. Adhere to Union College athletic policies and protocols, and to the eligibility requirements, rules, and regulations of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Drive the program van, maintaining a clean driving record and following all school and EZ‑Pass policies. Read, acknowledge, sign, and follow the NJCAA Coaching Principles, Coaching Creed, and Coaching Excellence Contract. Represent Union College, the Garden State Athletic Conference, and Region XIX positively on and off the playing arena. Conduct oneself and the team with the highest moral integrity at all public appearances. Qualifications Associate degree required. Coaching and/or playing experience required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment Involves both sedentary indoor work and physical activity outside on the field in coaching and training situations with student athletes. Strenuous exercise of muscles used in stooping, bending, running, throwing, pitching, and batting. Work performed indoors and/or outdoors in conditions including loud and constant noise, and natural atmospheric conditions such as sun, rain, wind, and dust. Occasional lifting, carrying, or dragging of approximately 50 pounds. Travel required. Compensation and Employment Terms Salary: $1,000 per contract Terms of Employment: Seasonal, per individual contract. Part‑time hours not to exceed 25 per week. Flexible schedule to meet department needs; evening, weekend, and extended hours may be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to on‑ and off‑campus sites as needed. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
