Maintenance Mechanic

The major duties of the Maintenance Mechanic position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintenance and preservation of historic and non-historic structures.
• Performs carpentry/woodworking tasks such as reconstruction, restoring or rehabilitating wood structures (rafters, doors, windows, floors, staircases, trusses, beams, interior and exterior trim etc.).
• Performs painting tasks which includes surface preparation and mixing of paints to approximate color and texture of historic paints.
• Perform masonry work involving the maintenance, repair, and construction of historic sites.
• Assists with inspections of historic structures/sites/landscapes onsite to determine physical condition and the type and amount of maintenance required to maintain them in proper condition
