Adjunct Instructor - Criminal Justice

Job Overview Adjunct Instructor – Criminal Justice, Texas A&M University – Texarkana, Texas. This part‑time adjunct faculty position is appointed on a per‑semester basis for Fall2026, Spring2027 and/or Summer2026. Candidates work primarily face‑to‑face (usually at night) and online sections, and are drawn from the local region. Responsibilities Teach Criminal Justice courses in modalities including face‑to‑face, web‑enhanced, hybrid, and online. Possible courses may cover law and courts, law enforcement & criminal investigations, community corrections, management & leadership, and other related topics. Teach courses on a 5‑, 8‑, 10‑ or 16‑week schedule depending on the semester. Coordinate course administrative duties such as grading student work, loading course content (assessments and lecture modules), meeting with students, submitting grades in a timely manner, meeting census and grade deadlines, and any other administrative responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Minimum educational requirements for undergraduate courses: Master’s or Juris Doctorate degree in the teaching discipline or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate‑level credit hours. Minimum educational requirements for graduate courses: Doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate‑level credit hours. Degree and coursework obtained from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred: Career or academic experience related to the specific course topic; lives in the service region (for face‑to‑face courses); works in a justice‑aligned agency or organization; previous college teaching experience; earned doctorate in criminal justice, criminology or a related field. Compensation $2,400 per undergraduate section taught with a master’s degree. $2,900 per undergraduate section taught with a Ph.D. Application Requirements Resume and/or CV Copy of graduate‑level transcripts At least two professional references All positions are security‑sensitive.
