Job Title: Service Plumber Job Description

This role focuses on providing residential plumbing services, including maintenance, repair, and installation work in homes. You will use your plumbing and construction knowledge to diagnose issues, execute high-quality repairs, and ensure customer satisfaction while working on a variety of service calls.

• Perform residential plumbing service calls, including diagnosing, repairing, and installing plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to plan and complete plumbing work accurately.
• Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
• Use plumbing tools, equipment, and construction methods safely and effectively on residential job sites.
• Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Provide clear communication to customers about the work being performed, timelines, and any recommended follow-up services.
• Document completed work and ensure all service tickets and job details are accurate and complete.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required to respond to urgent service requests outside regular hours.
• Collaborate with team members and other trades on construction-related plumbing projects in residential settings.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and company property, including tools, vehicles, and equipment.

• Hands-on experience in residential plumbing service work, including troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings related to plumbing and construction projects.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with plumbing systems, fixtures, and related components.
• Knowledge of basic construction practices as they relate to plumbing installation and service in residential properties.
• Ability to work independently on service calls and manage time effectively throughout the workday.
• Clear communication skills for interacting with residential customers and explaining work performed.
• Commitment to safety practices when using plumbing tools, equipment, and working in construction environments.

• Plumbing license is preferred and may impact earning potential.
• Comfort working on a commission structure based on jobs completed.
• Experience in residential construction environments is beneficial.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations and occasional extended hours.
• Reliability and professionalism when entering and working in customers’ homes.

The role operates primarily in residential settings, working on plumbing and related construction tasks in customers’ homes. Typical hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some on-call responsibilities that may extend beyond standard shifts. Work involves regular use of plumbing tools, mechanical equipment, and construction-related materials, often requiring physical activity such as standing, bending, and working in confined spaces. The environment is field-based rather than office-based, and you should be prepared for varied job sites and conditions throughout the workweek.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
