Accountant

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in Rochester, New York. This role is in the accounting industry and involves a significant amount of responsibility in maintaining and managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders. Responsibilities Generate and distribute vouchers following established guidelines and policies, ensuring accuracy in all details. Maintain organized and comprehensive records of all vouchers issued, adhering to data privacy regulations. Develop and implement a system to track the status of vouchers from issuance to redemption or reconciliation, and regularly update relevant stakeholders. Conduct regular reconciliation of voucher transactions with financial records and resolve any discrepancies. Collaborate with internal departments, such as finance, procurement, and operations, to gather information and ensure voucher accuracy. Respond to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders regarding voucher-related matters. Stay informed about company policies and industry regulations related to voucher management and ensure compliance. Generate periodic reports on voucher issuance, redemption, and outstanding balances, providing insights and recommendations based on voucher data to support decision‑making. Use skills in General Ledger and Grant Accounting to ensure all financial operations run smoothly. Qualifications Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Proficient in General Ledger and Grant Accounting. CPA certification is highly desirable. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting role. Proficiency in accounting software is required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently. Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
