Phlebotomist

Description Demonstrate skills and abilities by following the guidelines in venipuncture, heel and finger stick. Have knowledge and skills in basic collection and specimen preparation, storage and disposal of specimen, revision of daily temperature and recording; according to Lab Procedure Manuals. Perform point of care testing, quality control, reporting and records keeping of CLIA waived complexity testing according to Lab Procedure Manuals. Demonstrate basic computer literacy to meet department needs and duties (i.e. records keeping, health record entries, results tracking, etc.). Performs patient care functions as prescribed by licensed health care providers following established clinical protocols and policies and procedures within defined scope of education, training and responsibilities. Ability to multi task, flexible, ensures accuracy and completeness of work, adaptable to changes in department and business needs. Accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision and maintain good working relationship with employees, coworkers and departments. Maintains workstation, furnishings and equipment clean, and supply inventory at prescribed stock levels. Assist in checking daily temperature and recording. Possess personal characteristics of professionalism, credible commitment to high standards with excellent communication skills; effectively and clearly communicate verbally and in writing with patients and other customers. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to the established departmental policies and objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. May be requested to assist in communication efforts that require verbal translation for patients; depending on the assignment. Skills Certified Phlebotomy Technician, CPT, phlebotomy certification Additional Skills & Qualifications CA CPT license BLS/CPR certification Minimum 6 months experience Schedule: M-F 8-5 Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of San Ysidro, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
