This role offers an opportunity for a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists with the preparation, distribution, and management of medications in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment in Fairfield, OH. You will help ensure safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations while providing courteous service to patients and contributing to a clean, organized, and compliant workplace. Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacists in accurately filling prescriptions under direct supervision.
• Measure, count, and package medications in accordance with prescription guidelines and established procedures.
• Affix appropriate labels to medication containers, including dosage instructions and safety warnings.
• Input prescription and patient information into pharmacy software systems with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Monitor medication stock levels and coordinate with suppliers or internal teams to maintain adequate inventory.
• Conduct regular inventory checks, rotate stock, and ensure medications are stored correctly to prevent expiration.
• Safely dispose of expired, damaged, or recalled medications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Greet patients in a courteous, professional manner and respond to questions or concerns within the scope of the role.
• Assist patients with prescription drop-off and pick-up, ensuring proper verification and documentation.
• Perform routine checks on pharmacy equipment and storage conditions to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Participate in quality control efforts, including monitoring expiration dates and maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Support and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws and guidelines related to pharmacy operations and controlled substances.
• Adhere to safety protocols for handling medications, including hazardous or specialty medications, as directed.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong attention to detail in all daily tasks.

• Experience in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting is advantageous.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Familiarity with pharmacy terminology and common prescription abbreviations.
• Understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards relevant to daily practice.
• Strong communication and active listening skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in basic math for accurate measuring, counting, and dosage calculations.
• Comfort using pharmacy software systems and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Capability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed for inventory and stocking tasks.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient for reading prescriptions and handling medications safely.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and medication preparation.
• Customer service skills, including professionalism, patience, and a helpful attitude.

• Completion of a state-approved pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
• Pharmacy technician certification is preferred and can support advancement and higher pay levels.
• Interest in growing into compounding responsibilities with appropriate training and certification.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Comfort adapting to evolving pharmacy technologies and software updates.

This position is based in a retail pharmacy setting in Fairfield, OH, where you will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and patients in a high-volume, service-oriented environment. The role involves frequent standing, walking, and light to moderate lifting, as well as regular use of pharmacy software systems and electronic health records. Shifts include three shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and three shifts from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., supporting extended pharmacy hours and requiring flexibility in scheduling. The workspace emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards for medication storage and handling. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, OH.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
