Director of Nursing

Director Of Nursing (Don)Location: Baltimore, Maryland Employment Type: Full-TimeWe are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Director Of Nursing (Don) to lead our nursing department in a skilled nursing facility. The Don will be responsible for providing strong clinical leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and promoting high-quality resident care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and direction to the nursing department.Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and individualized care.Oversee nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs/GNAs.Monitor staffing levels, schedules, assignments, and nursing coverage.Ensure compliance with applicable CMS, Maryland Department Of Health, and federal/state regulations.Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards.Participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, infection prevention, falls, wounds, hospitalizations, and other key indicators.Conduct regular rounds and provide clinical oversight of resident care.Work collaboratively with the Administrator, Medical Director, physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team.Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive care plans.Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation.Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate physician and family notification.Investigate incidents, accidents, complaints, and allegations and implement corrective actions as needed.Support survey readiness and participate in regulatory surveys and inspections.Identify educational needs and coordinate ongoing staff education and competency programs.Promote retention, accountability, teamwork, and professional development among nursing staff.Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and performance management of nursing personnel.Ensure appropriate infection prevention and control practices are consistently followed.Monitor medication management and other clinical processes in collaboration with appropriate personnel.Maintain effective communication with residents and their responsible parties.QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland.Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Previous nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting strongly preferred, or comparable supervisory experience preferred.Strong knowledge of federal and Maryland skilled nursing regulations.Knowledge of CMS requirements, infection prevention, quality improvement, and survey processes.Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively manage and motivate a multidisciplinary nursing team.Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience.Comprehensive benefits package.Paid time off.Supportive interdisciplinary leadership team.Join our team and help lead a nursing department committed to providing exceptional care, dignity, and quality of life to our residents.Apply Today!
