Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient demographics using both standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that address immediate needs while paving the way for improved long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on various areas including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work in collaboration with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapy professionals, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop integrated care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and their families, assisting them in continuing progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Assist with occasional evaluations and therapy for inpatient cases, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout their recovery process.
  • Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation compliant with all applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on the latest speech-language pathology advancements.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferably, hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques across all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • The ability to modify therapy methodologies to respect cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Keen clinical judgment coupled with solid problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
