Accounting Clerk Responsibilities


As an Accounting Clerk , you will assist with daily accounting and financial operations, including:

• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting and financial records
• Enter, update, and review financial information using accounting software
• Perform accounting data entry and maintain supporting documentation
• Complete account reconciliations and identify discrepancies
• Assist with bookkeeping and general accounting duties
• Review financial transactions and records for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with administrative and clerical responsibilities as needed
• Help maintain efficient accounting and office procedures

Accounting Clerk Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Experience or familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or financial data entry preferred
• Familiarity with accounting software
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to complete account reconciliations and identify discrepancies
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a professional, fast-paced office environment
