Shift: Day Shift 700 - 1930; 36 or 48 hours per week. AWHONN required

Duration: 13 weeks (Contract)

Job Description

Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced and compassionate Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit in San Luis Obispo-CA. This role is essential for providing high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients throughout the labor and delivery process, ensuring optimal care and safety.
• Provide support during labor, including administering medications and managing pain relief options.
• Circulate and recover patients in the operating room for cesarean sections (c/s) as needed.
• Float to mother-baby couplet care to provide comprehensive care to mothers and their newborns.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing preferred.
• Required certifications:
• AWHONN
• Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
