Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

Role Overview: An Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive therapy services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program development and team goal achievement. Primary Responsibilities Conduct evaluations by reviewing historical data, performing assessments, and documenting findings. Explain results and involve patients and families in goal setting. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, patient presentation, and healthcare environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and adjust plans as needed. Complete discharge planning and follow-up care. Accurately document patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Manage time effectively to meet productivity goals while ensuring patient access through flexibility, empathy, and professionalism. Pursue ongoing professional development, mentor new staff and students, and support team growth. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Licensure for Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia as required.
