Investment Trader and Operations Specialist

DSG Capital Advisors is a registered investment advisor managing assets approaching $1 billion for family office and high-net-worth clients. We focus on providing Boutique Family Office Services to the families that we serve. Our high-touch client service, in addition to our in-office culture, are a couple of items that set us apart from larger more institutional firms. This is a hands-on role where your work has a direct, visible impact on client outcomes rather than being a small part of a large institution where you may never know the impact that you have on clients.
Position Summary
DSG is seeking an Investment Trader and Operations Specialist to execute trades and manage investment operations across our client accounts. This role sits at the intersection of our trading and operations teams, requiring both precision with the trading responsibilities in addition to the supporting investment operations functions. You'll work closely with both the investment and advisory teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient execution across every client relationship.
Responsibilities
Trading
- Execute buy and sell orders for stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, and other investment securities with a high degree of accuracy
- Review cash positions, account restrictions, model allocations, and tax sensitivity across accounts
- Ensure best execution of trades across multiple custodians using trading software and Bloomberg terminal
- Ensure all trades comply with regulations and firm policies and procedures
- Monitor market activity, economic trends, and market volatility to benefit client portfolios
- Support portfolio rebalancing and strategy implementation
Operations
- Review and reconcile trade activity to ensure accuracy and timely settlement
- Maintain accurate trading records and documentation
- Research and resolve trade discrepancies, corrections, and operational issues promptly
- Monitor and update client account positions, weightings, and risk models in Excel
- Maintain data integrity across CRM, portfolio management, and performance reporting systems
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance trading and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field with a high degree of academic success
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in trading and investment operations
- Minimum of 2 years of experience executing trades on a live trading platform
- Experience with portfolio models and investment operations workflows
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Black Diamond, LPL, Schwab, and/or Fidelity
- Desire to take on additional responsibility as your skills grow
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced investment environment and enjoy solving complex operational challenges
- Proactive, collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about building investment operations and trading processes that create accuracy and efficiency
- Active Series 65 license

- Full-time, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
