Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting a 3rd grade student with Life Skills needs in a Homebound setting. This contract role offers the chance to provide individualized special education instruction, ensuring academic progress and personal growth in a supportive environment. The assignment starts as soon as possible and extends through the ESY period (end date to be determined), with an option for a full school year from August 12th, 2026, to May 22nd, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with elementary-age students and adapting instruction for unique learning needs
- Familiarity with Life Skills curriculum and Homebound services is highly desirable
- Ability to design and deliver creative, engaging lessons in a one-on-one setting
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Flexibility, compassion, and a commitment to collaborative service
Responsibilities:
- Provide 6 hours of instruction per week, with 4 hours dedicated to teaching and 2 hours for compensatory educational services, starting the week of August 17th
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals
- Maintain comprehensive records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, and case managers to ensure a holistic support plan
- Uphold district and special education policy standards throughout all onsite sessions
