Temple University's Wellness Resource Center is searching for a Associate Director! Salary Grade: T26 Salary Range: $65,000-$67,000 A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source. Position Summary: The Associate Director is part of the Wellness Resource Center, within the Division of Health and Well-being and serves as the campus lead specialist in the areas of strategic health promotion messaging and community development, as well as operations functions for the office. The Associate Director, along with the Director, supports a team of health promotion practitioners and student peer educators in order to cultivate community and enhance well-being. This role uses evidence-based interventions and practices to improve the well-being and success of individual students, student groups, and campus communities within the University. The Associate Director is responsible for training student staff, coordinating all social and traditional media requests, leading the office's digital identity and social platforms, and ensuring office operations run smoothly and student staff are well supported. Leads the Division of Health & Well-being's communications committee and internal messaging needs. Key functions of this position include strategic health communications management, events marketing, program evaluation and assessment, and general administrative duties, such as managing safer sex supply distribution and related documentation, hiring and onboarding of student workers and graduate externs, and supervising both professional and student staff. Works collaboratively across the University in both programming and committee participation. This position is primarily in-person and on-campus and may be eligible for hybrid remote work (one day per week) after the probationary period. The Wellness Resource Center is Temple University's health promotion office, focused on helping the campus community understand wellness and ways to flourish. We are a team of experienced and dedicated professionals and Certified Peer Educators who work to promote wellness and create connectedness through a variety of programming and services. Some Essential Functions include: *Leads the Wellness Resource Center's communication and identity efforts. This includes development of a health communications-informed messaging plan, aligning to brand standards, and proactive outreach to broaden the reach of the Wellness Resource Center's efforts and awareness. *Develops and implement health communications goals and strategies for both the office and individual content areas. *Develops procedures and protocols for events and coordinates all space reservations with Student Center Operations, University Facilities, and college partners. *Coordinates and manages budgets for events. *Works collaboratively across the University and Division in both programming and committee participation. *Supervises two full-time professional staff and five student workers. Indirectly mentors (50) peer educators. May supervise academic internship and graduate externship students. *Responsible for continuous quality improvement by attending and presenting at national and local conferences in order to improve program office offerings and develop cutting edge professional and management skills. Remain current on emerging and contemporary health issues. Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Communications, Digital Marketing, Design, Higher Education, or related field required, as well as a minimum of two years demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation in a university setting. At least two years experience supervising full-time staff. Experience with student leadership and development and / or community engagement is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
