About the Facility Brooke Army Medical Center

The Brooke Army Medical Center is the United States Army's premier medical institution. This 425-bed Academic Medical Center is the Department of Defense's largest facility and only Level 1 Trauma Center. The BAMC Laboratory is the premier military lab and one of the largest in the U.S. The lab has received recognition during the major pandemics and wars. • Assist with decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage and issuing of medical/surgical instrument sets, instruments and supplies.
• Provide wards, clinics and other users with sterile supplies and other SPD issued items. Process instrument sets delivered from wards and clinics and reissue them as required.
• Maintain established supply levels and rotation of supplies.
• Clean the Sterilization/Processing/Distribution work areas per the standard operating procedure.
• Issue supplies to sections and outpatients and properly complete hand receipts.
• Assist with the issuing, exchange, and restocking of crash carts.
• Deliver broken medical items to Medical Maintenance.
• Assist with function check of sterilization equipment.
• Assemble case carts with surgical instrumentation and supplies for operating room and clinic use.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience within the last 10 years providing services as a Central Sterile Supply Technician or Surgical Technologist.
• Must have and maintain current certification in BLS certified by the American Heart Association or the client standards.
