Now Hiring:  EMI Technician / Level II Inspector

Location: Midland, Texas

Position Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused EMI Technician to perform inspections on drill pipe, tubing, casing, pipelines, and other oilfield tubular goods using Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI) and other Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods. 
• The EMI Technician is responsible for conducting inspections, identifying defects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications, maintaining inspection records, and assisting in the training and oversight of entry-level technicians.
• This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in both shop and field environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform EMI, MPI/MT, UT, and VTI inspections on drill pipe, tubing, casing, and pipelines.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain inspection equipment.
• Identify and evaluate defects, including cracks, corrosion, and mechanical damage.
• Complete inspection reports, field evaluations, and required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records.
• Train and support Level I Technicians.
• Communicate inspection results and recommendations to customers and management.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Travel to field locations as required.

Qualifications

Required Certifications

• EMI (Electromagnetic Inspection) Certification
• MPI/MT (Magnetic Particle Inspection) Certification
• VTI (Visual Thread Inspection) Certification

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience performing tubular inspections on drill pipe and other OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods).
• Experience utilizing EMI and other NDT inspection methods within the oil and gas industry.

Knowledge and Skills

• Thorough knowledge of tubular inspection methods and NDT techniques.
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, specifications, and contractual requirements related to inspection services.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in preparing inspection reports and maintaining records.
• Knowledge of pipeline integrity and safety evaluation practices.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as required.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments under varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work around heavy machinery and oilfield equipment.
• Ability to wear always required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

• Combination of shop, yard, and field work.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and industrial environments.
• Regular interaction with customers, inspectors, and field personnel.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
