The ideal candidate will have experience caring for post-operative patients, including those recovering from orthopedic, gynecological, urological, and general surgeries. Responsibilities Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care needs under the direction of licensed physicians. Utilize the nursing process to collaborate with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members to individualize care. Direct nursing support staff in providing patient care according to nursing practice standards and departmental policies. Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements. Work Schedule This position requires the ability to work every other weekend and one evening of major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's, based on unit needs. Unit Information The Med/Surg Telemetry unit consists of 20 beds, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4 to 5. Staffing may include 5 RNs and 2 nursing assistants for a full census. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred). 1 year of experience in a clinical specialty preferred. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania. Basic Life Support certification required. Multi-State Compact RN license preferred or required depending on location. Skills and Knowledge The RN should possess a strong knowledge base of current nursing principles, theories, and methods.
