Job Title: Forklift Operator Job Description

This Forklift Operator role supports a frozen dough manufacturing facility in Hazleton by safely operating stand-up forklifts and RC equipment to move, load, and organize product in a cold storage environment. You will work on a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule, rotating in and out of freezer areas and using RF scanners to ensure accurate order selection and truck loading.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up and RC forklifts safely and efficiently in a frozen dough manufacturing and cold storage environment.

• Load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations.

• Use RF scanners to accurately pick, scan, and track orders and inventory movements.

• Perform order selection tasks, including locating, picking, and staging products according to work orders.

• Rotate in and out of freezer areas approximately every 40–45 minutes, following established safety and break protocols.

• Follow all facility safety guidelines and procedures while working in temperatures around -10 to 32 degrees.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including freezer and loading zones.

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.

• Work 2nd or 3rd shift Monday through Friday and remain open to working every other weekend with corresponding days off during the week.

• Adapt to changing production and shipping needs while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations.

Essential Skills

• Proven forklift experience with stand-up forklifts and RC equipment.

• Ability to work safely and comfortably in freezer environments at temperatures as low as -10 degrees.

• Experience loading trucks and moving pallets and product in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

• Ability to use RF scanners for order selection, inventory tracking, and verification.

• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking and loading.

• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift Monday through Friday and to work every other weekend with scheduled weekdays off.

• Reliability and consistency in attendance and adherence to shift schedules.

• Physical ability to work in cold conditions, including regular rotation in and out of freezer areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior stand-up forklift experience in a freezer or cold storage environment.

• Experience as an order selector or in a similar warehouse role.

• Interest in developing into leadership roles over time.

• Ability to adapt to varying workloads and production demands.

• Comfort working with technology such as RF scanners and warehouse systems.

Work Environment

The role is based in a frozen dough manufacturing facility that includes freezer and cold storage areas maintained at approximately -10 to 32 degrees. All cold-weather gear and overalls are provided, and you will rotate in and out of the freezer every 40–45 minutes with regular 10–15 minute warm-up breaks. Work is performed on 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) or 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.), Monday through Friday, with required availability to work every other weekend and receive two days off during the week. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and centered around forklift operation, truck loading, RF scanner use, and order selection tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hazleton, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
