Payroll Specialist

Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to work in our Carey, Ohio office.


The Payroll Specialist will provide payroll duties within the Accounting Department including, but not limited to, processing of weekly payroll; preparing, distributing and filing of all certified reports, payroll taxes, garnishments, child support, and temporary employee billings.

Duties:

• Process and manage weekly payroll, including data entry, edits, payment files, reports, and online check stub posting
• Ensure payroll accuracy by verifying exceptions, deductions, HR updates, and compliance with deadlines
• File payroll taxes, certified payroll reports, child support, garnishments, and required government documentation
• Maintain prevailing wage compliance, classifications, determinations, and certified payroll records
• Reconcile contract labor invoices and code invoices for payment processing
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior payroll experience with an organization employing 250+ employees is preferred
• At least 2 years of any combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities of a Payroll Specialist
• Familiarity with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting is preferred
• Excellent computer skills with strong & accurate typing skills
• Highly organized; strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion & professionalism
