Salary Range: $74,934-$139,653 Supervisor: Director of Special Education Job Classification: Exempt Contract Length: 12 months (260 days)

Job Summary: The School Psychologist provides evaluation, consultation, and problem-solving services to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. This position supports the implementation of special education services by conducting psychoeducational assessments, participating in eligibility and IEP processes, and collaborating with school-based teams to develop appropriate interventions and supports.

Essential Job Functions:

• Conduct psychoeducational evaluations, reevaluations, and other assessments for students referred through the special education process.
• Interpret evaluation data and prepare written reports to support eligibility determinations and educational planning.
• Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, manifestation determination reviews, and other student support meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families regarding student needs and appropriate interventions.
• Assist with functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention planning, and recommendations for instructional and behavioral supports.
• Support school teams in addressing academic, behavioral, social, and emotional concerns through consultation and problem-solving.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary evaluation processes involving students considered for special education services and Section 504 supports, as appropriate.
• Maintain documentation, records, and reports in accordance with division, state, and federal requirements.
• Participate in crisis response and threat assessment processes, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Knowledge of psychoeducational assessment practices and interpretation of evaluation data.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedural requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff.
• Ability to communicate assessment findings clearly in written and oral form.
• Ability to manage timelines and complete required documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to support prevention, intervention, and problem-solving practices across school settings.
• Knowledge of special education procedures, evaluation requirements, and student support practices.
• Experience supporting special education evaluations, reevaluations, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with behavioral intervention planning, MTSS, and consultation practices.
• Strong written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Master's degree or higher in school psychology from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Experience in psychoeducational assessment, report writing, and consultation in school-based settings. Experience working in a Pre-K-12 public school division.
• Certification and Licensure: Eligibility for or possession of a Virginia Pupil Personnel Services license with an endorsement as a school psychologist, or other appropriate Virginia credential required for the position.

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
