Overview The City of Branson is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual for the position of Police Officer. This is a P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement role, ideal for candidates eager to serve and protect the community. Clothing/Equipment Allowance : $700 per year allowance for clothing and equipment. Officer Rifle Purchase Program : Program allowing individual officers to purchase rifles. On‑Duty Fitness Opportunities : Opportunity to work out while on duty. Special Assignments : Opportunities in SWAT, Detective Bureau, K‑9, Field Training Officer, and Bike patrol. Tuition Reimbursement : Reimbursement for tuition and other approved expenses for training academy attendance if hired within one year of obtaining P.O.S.T. certification. Required Experience, Education and Training High School diploma or GED equivalent. Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy. Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment. Candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. certification in Missouri after being offered employment. Preferred Experience Two (2) years of experience in a similar or larger sized agency. Miscellaneous Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of employment. Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green and amber. Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Compensation & Benefits The starting hourly wage is $23.76 per hour and will increase to $24.71 per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Experienced lateral hires can earn between $53,000 and $59,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience. Work Location In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; this position requires work to be performed onsite.
