HVAC Controls Engineer

Facility Systems TechnicianResponsible for supporting the monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of building automation systems (BAS), HVAC systems, and other critical infrastructure. This role ensures reliable operation of facility systems, supports preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and collaborates with senior engineers and maintenance teams to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining a safe environment.Job Responsibilities:Monitor and support the daily operation of building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, mechanical equipment, and BAS).Perform routine inspections and assist in identifying potential risks or system inefficiencies.Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automation systems, controls, and facility equipment; escalate complex problems as needed.Support corrective and preventive maintenance activities for facility systems and equipment.Assist in responding to alarms, abnormal conditions, and facility-related emergencies.Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to support repairs, maintenance, and system upgrades.Support implementation of system modifications, upgrades, and expansions under guidance of senior engineers.Review and follow control sequences for HVAC and building systems; recommend minor improvements for efficiency and reliability.Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize CMMS for work order tracking and documentation.Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Provide support in training junior technicians and learning from senior staff.Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of facility systems and work areas.Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.Maintain regular and predictable attendance.Consistently meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work while applying St. Jude values and principles.
