Position Summary

Chemical Filling Technicians are responsible for trans loading product from railcar into drums, totes, and more, operate equipment for loading/unloading totes and drums, and operating drumming station. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and proficient in operating different types of equipment and handling materials in a fast-paced environment, while implementing best practices that support the continued growth of Palmer Logistics and H. Essers.

Pay Rate

$18.00- $20.00 an hour depending on experience and equipment knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Trans loading product from railcar using operating equipment into, drums, totes, etc.
• Operate drumming station to assure correct weight and seal containment.
• Equipment inspected daily and cleaned as required.
• Operate a forklift unloading or loading totes, drums.
• Must be able to read gauges.
• Must be able to connect and disconnect hoses via threaded/camlock fittings.
• Ability to work with basic hand tools.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, stand for long periods of time, stoop, crawl, and work on an elevated platform and top of rail cars.
• Maintain high level of housekeeping in work area.
• Ability to multitask and complete task with sense of urgency

• Willingness to fill in with other warehouse operations
• Flexible work schedule: to work any hours between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, may require work on Saturdays if needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have 1-3 years of warehouse experience in a logistics environment.
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Detail-oriented and capable of performing basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
