PRN Registered Nurse CVICU

Overview As a PRN Registered Nurse CVICU, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn. You'll help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing. Responsibilities Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management. Applies evidence-based practices and participates in continuous process improvement initiatives to meet quality measures and enhance patient care. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes recovery. 10-bed CVICU at a Level 2 Trauma Center with leadership and opportunities for professional growth. PRN Schedule – minimum 1 12-hour shift per week plus rotating weekends. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or BSN degree. Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or hold an active compact license, per law and regulation. BLS required at hire. ACLS required within 3 months of hire. Minimum 1 year of critical care (ICU/CVICU) experience.
