STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN

Location: Naples, Florida

Schedule: Full-Time | Day and Night Shifts Available

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED required

• Completion of a Surgical Tech or Sterile Processing Tech program

• CSPDT/CRCST certification REQUIRED

• Have 1 to 2 years of experience in a surgical environment

• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows)

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills

• Commitment to following safety protocols and departmental procedures

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage, receive, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment

• Assemble case carts accurately based on doctor’s preference cards

• Operate washer/decontaminator, sonic cleaner, compressed air, and dryer units properly

• Disassemble, mechanically clean, and hand-wash instruments, including heat/fluid sensitive items

• Sort instruments into specialty trays and verify counts using count sheets

• Prepare utensils and package instruments safely, ensuring sterility

• Understand and monitor sterilizers (Steam, Sterrad, Steris System 1) and validate sterilization parameters

• Use biological indicators correctly and document quality control results

• Maintain knowledge of physician preferences, supply locations, and surgical terminology

• Support staff as preceptor, assist others, prepare end-of-shift reports, and identify ways to reduce waste

• Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and safety protocols

• Perform other duties as assigned
