Designer

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Designer to create and modify company drawings using CAD software from sketches, vendor data, drawing templates, verbal instructions, and notes provided by engineering. Contribute to design and drawing modifications and improvements. It represents the most significant and essential duties of the job but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned. What You’ll Do: Develop physical, schematic, and wiring drawings with CAD software from sketches, vendor data, drawing templates, verbal instructions, and notes provided by engineering. Develop CAD drawings for fabricated parts and assemblies for construction, including bill of material and notes. Participate in product design and process improvement initiatives. Understand and apply industry drawing standards. Follow division drafting procedures and work instructions. Develop new and modify existing drawing standards and procedures to improve quality and productivity. Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to design and detail components and systems. Participate in design problem resolution. Identify and select appropriate components for assembly drawings from the Company’s MRP system and vendor catalogs. Assist engineers with design reviews. Maintain design project schedules. Track and report on project status. Review drawings of others for adherence to company standards. Act as a mentor for other drafting personnel. What You’ll Bring: Associate’s degree in drafting or design technologies with a minimum 5 years of drafting and design experience, or equivalent education and experience. Advanced knowledge of 3D drawing systems and techniques. Advanced knowledge of industry standards for drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read and create technical drawings, blueprints, schematics and material. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deliverable deadlines. Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and drafting software.
