Senior Technical Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Technical Analyst for a one-year assignment to support, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based data platform solutions. In this hands-on technical role, you will be performing technical analysis, diagnostic troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and observability management for complex, high-performance computing (HPC) integrated data platforms operating on AWS and Kubernetes.

This position operates within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment and offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-impact production support, maintain operational readiness, and train/mentor end-users and support staff.
Key Responsibilities

• Production Support & Incident Management: Deliver hands-on primary technical support for applications running on Kubernetes and HPC clusters. Perform incident triage, diagnostic root-cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution across application, infrastructure, and platform teams. Participate in scheduled on-call rotations (8:00 AM-2:00 PM ET or 2:00 PM-8:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday).
• Observability & Monitoring: Maintain and enhance observability pipelines across metrics, logs, and traces. Set up performance dashboards and health alerts using Grafana, CloudWatch, and Container Insights.
• Process & System Documentation: Create, maintain, and update runbooks, troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system documentation. Maintain project records including scopes, schedules, and process improvement recommendations.
• Training & End-User Enablement: Deliver technical walkthroughs, training sessions, FAQs, and how-to guides for end-users and support team members to drive platform self-sufficiency.
• Agile & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with security, governance, compliance, and platform engineering teams to ensure system operations align with institutional standards. Actively participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and requirements engineering using Jira.

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

• Container Orchestration & Kubernetes: 5+ years of hands-on production experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and container runtime troubleshooting (Docker).
• High-Performance Computing (HPC): 3+ years of experience supporting HPC environments, including parallel computing frameworks, job schedulers, and integrating HPC workloads into containerized/Kubernetes setups.
• AWS Cloud Platform: Core hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) alongside performance and cost optimization practices for compute-heavy workloads.
• Observability Tools: Hands-on experience building monitoring and observability pipelines, configuring Grafana dashboards, threshold alerts, and health-check mechanisms.
• Data & Analytics Frameworks: Practical knowledge of Databricks for job monitoring, pipeline health checks, and troubleshooting within data ecosystems.
• Agile/SAFe Experience: Strong background delivering within Agile/SAFe environments using management tools such as Jira.
