About Us:
Dimondale Adolescent Care Facility is non-profit organization that provides support and care to youth in need. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll / Onboarding Clerk to manage our full-cycle, semi-monthly payroll process and support employee onboarding and personnel administration.

What You’ll Do:
The Payroll and Employee Onboarding Clerk, is responsible for processing payroll from start to finish each pay period, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This includes reviewing timekeeping records, processing earnings and deductions, handling payroll changes, resolving discrepancies, completing payroll reconciliations, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Please note that this is a full-time, on-site position, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM in Torrance, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full Cycle Payroll
• Manage and process full-cycle payroll on a semi-monthly basis
• Review, and verify employee timecards and payroll information before each payroll
• Calculate and process payroll adjustments, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll transactions
• Process new hires, terminations, pay-rate changes, deductions, and other employee payroll changes
• Process and maintain employee garnishments and other required deductions
• Coordinate with management regarding missing timecards, approvals, payroll changes, and discrepancies
• Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, timekeeping, and payroll-related matters
• Support 401(k) enrollment and benefits tracking
• Submit quarterly state reports and coordinate with Accountant
• Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll, compensation, and employee information
• Provide general administrative support for payroll

Employee Onboarding

• Coordinate and process new-hire onboarding paperwork
• Enter new employees into payroll and HR systems
• Set up accounts, assist with training access, and explain company policies
• Ensure required employment documents are completed accurately and on time
• Guide new hires through systems like the DMV Portal and clock-in tools
• Process employee status changes and update employee records as needed
• Assemble personnel files
• Resolve issues in systems (CS, Workforce Hub, Swipeclock)

What You Need:

• Associate’s degree and 2+ years full-cycle payroll processing experience
• Working knowledge of payroll calculations, overtime, deductions, garnishments, PTO, and payroll adjustments
• Experience in HR support or onboarding
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with payroll systems
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize payroll-related tasks
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and have a valid CA driver’s license

Preferred Experience:

• Working knowledge of Workforce Hub, Swipeclock, and Thomas Recruiters (CS)

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Physical ability to perform job duties (e.g., sit, lift up to 30 lbs)
• Willingness to complete Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) within 1 month of hire
• Compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Dimondale's insurance carrier.
• Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance.
