Accountant

Reporting to the Accounting Coordinator, this position prepares financial reports and performs accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance. Qualifications: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an accounting emphasis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. One to two years of accounting experience or an internship is preferred. **Wage is commensurate with education and experience. Key Responsibilities: Financial Analysis & Reporting Prepare financial and business-related analysis, including department variance and profitability reports. Generate accurate internal and external financial reports as required. Aid in preparing quarterly board reports for various programs. Monitor Aged Accounts Receivables to ensure timely cash flow and payments. Core Accounting Operations Manage Accounts Receivable: generate invoices, record payments, and utilize various billing systems. Process billing for various funding streams and programs. Reconcile payments, record deposits, and perform other tasks in Blackbaud accounting software. Monitor and maintain customer accounts for tax exemptions and update as necessary. Compliance & Audit Management Assist Accounting Coordinator and Director of Business Operations with annual audits as required. Prepare documentation for agency, program, and grant-specific audits.
